The Society of Friends of International Theater Frankfurt e.V. ("Fördergesellschaft") was founded in 1995 as a non-profit organization, primarily to sponsor the Frankfurt International Theater. Since 2015, Germany has increasingly seen itself as a country of immigration and the diversity of cultures has arrived at the heart of society. This is evident in Frankfurt across all cultural establishments with a colorful, intercultural cultural offer.
The purpose of the Fördergesellschaft is to make a contribution to intercultural exchange through art, so that citizens of different nations and cultures living in Frankfurt and the surrounding area can find their cultural home in Frankfurt and experience a cultural gateway to the world.
Against this background, we are promoting the following areas today: We encourage cultural companies and artists who deal with topics such as migration, integration, participation, racism and anti-Semitism, equality between men and women and religious diversity in the form of spoken and music theater, dance and concerts deal with. We promote foreign language guest performances and productions by artists from different cultures as well as performances by students, provided they take place in public spaces, in order to promote the personal development of the students and to bring them and their parents closer to going to the theater. We bridge the financial risks of venues, ensembles or individual artists; We make it easier for refugees to participate in intercultural events.
Art is an idea in ourselves. We create and experience it in exchange with people from other cultures and transform ourselves in the process.
Help us to realize this idea together!
